Welcome dear one - I’m so glad that you are here. My name is Sarah, a Scottish lass living in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. I believe that each of us crosses thresholds of change every day, and we can slow down to mark them in meaningful ways. I do this through fine art portrait photography, and it is my honor to be present with each soul with an open heart and camera in hand.

My Philosophy
Photography is a contemplative way of being. I very much like the way Howard Zehr, a restorative justice pioneer and photographer, speaks of the act of receiving an image rather than taking it. It is with this posture and presence I focus myself, bearing witness to the sacred in all people. When you are in front of the lens, you are not just getting a portrait. You are communicating who you are, what you’re made of, what you want to share with the world. It is my joy to be deeply present to you, gently crafting the creative work you give me by simply being yourself.
